Thanks again all! By the way, the voodoo chicken is something I got from Pin Cushion and it does work!!! If any of you are ever in the dollar store and see one of those little 'dead chicken' toys, about
four inches long and on a key chain or just there as a toy... Put it in your fridge... It make you stop and think if you're 'grazing' for something to eat. Helps me make good choices, like apple with peanut butter instead of a
cookie. Similar calories, one has much more fiber and slow release fructose because of plant cell walls.
I've lost six pounds in the last four months and doc says that is the best way to do it... Let's see, at this rate I'll be at my ideal weight in about
seven and a half years... (LOL!) Actually, I'm gonna try to step up the swimming a bit and see if that helps. Learned a good thing: 30 minutes of swimming the back stroke (because of my asthma, can't do the regular crawl) is over 400 calories. That can really put a dent in my daily food allowance and help build muscle that will boost my metabolism. I use training fins (makes me look like I have blue duck feet) for swimming because they make my large leg muscles do most of the work. They were about
$45 but well worth it since they speed up the lap times and I can get my 1/3 mile swim in about
a half hour.
Anyone who lives by a YMCA with a lap pool, I would strongly recommend this. It's easy on my joints and back, great for my fibro and only has bad results on my curly hair... Oh well, can't have everything!
