IMO all diabetics who unquestioningly accept medical advice re their diabetes are playing russian roulette with their futures
In australia, which has an advanced western medical system, the general level of diabetes knowledge amoungst ordinary GP docs is very poor, mostly info 20 or 30 years out of date and many old wives tales too
most diabeties specialists dont bother to keep up to date, so older ones should be avoided, as of 5 years ago one leading one refused to accept insulin resistance existed
many dont know how to manage the diabetes tablets correctly and so put the diabetic on to insulin when its not needed
I am appalled at the casual way that diabetics are put on on insulin as this imposes huge extra demands on them, with the risk of hypos causing them to crash their cars, have temper tantrums or faint
many undoubtedly could have stayed on tablets and diet if only their docs had been more competent
