Prayers please...

Hi all,
Sorry I've been awol, but a little over a week ago my daughter who was about 8 1/2 months pregnant was put on strict bed rest. Someone had to be with her while hubby went to work and I'm the available one. She lives in a town about an hour from me so I've been here since the 13th, I think... Because she was having high blood pressure problems and difficulty with making her right leg work correctly her doctor induced her at 39 weeks. Long labor, had baby on Saturday morning, and now everything is not going so well.

Her right leg is worse and she can't walk. We have had two days of neuro consults, MRI, x-rays, about 5 different doctors and tonight she will see the Physical Therapist and Occupational Therapist for evaluation as well as the neurosurgeon... To complicate matters, baby has been discharged from the hospital so she is technically a visitor in mommy's room. None of the staff can even touch the baby so there has to be a full time caregiver in the room at all times. My daughter is breast feeding and that is going well but now baby is jaundiced and we're dealing with that, too.

Basically, what I need here is prayers for a healing. My daughter is the main breadwinner in the family, works as a physical therapist assistant, and so knows exactly how much trouble she is in. Hubby works as a technician at a TV station and that isn't going to pay the mortgage. If they send her home tomorrow or the next day without surgery or some kind of healing she will be in a wheelchair... and we will be converting first level of the house to bedroom/nursery overnight... Just have to figure out how to get her up six stairs into the house...

I know we all face stuff that majorly stinks from time to time. Sometimes it's hard to trust the Good Lord, but I am trusting Him now and asking for all the prayers that you can muster. Prayers for her, baby, daddy, her doctors and caregivers, me, and especially a healing. If you are not a praying person, good thoughts, healing vibes, whatever you got, I'll take it.

Can you supply a first name for your daughter and the baby? I'll ask that their names be added to my and my friends' churches' prayer lists.

MC and little Erin are coming home today, wheelchair and all. Neurosurgeon says that this is the result of the hormone that loosens up the bones to ease the birth process and that as the hormone level decreases she will regain leg function... Hooooray! He was totally confident that she will be better and ready to return to work in 6 to 8 weeks. (Thanks God!)

I can do recovery stuff... I can help here and stay strong for her. Thank you all for being my rock to lean on. You guys are the BEST! Keep praying.

Sounds like you're both getting therapy!  MC is lucky to have you there.  I hope she makes progress and feels better.
