Had my appointment at the Diabetes Center. The head nurse who runs it believes in the low carb diet. She said not to make an appointment with the dietician there now as she teaches the ADA diet...but the new RD they are hiring believes in the low carb lifestyle. Also, this nurse works closely with the endo I see tomorrow and he has no objection to low carbs. He doesn't push it as he has not found anyone willing to give up carbs but will be more than willing to work with me on it. My BS are so in control I might need to get of Lantus already. I am actually at the bottom of the numbers that would be my goals. The nurse told me it wasn't the meds doing it, it was me. That I had taken control of my disease. They were all impressed. Also, they are turning to the low carb way to handle BS in diabetics. I am so happy I found these people...but happier I found this place and all you people here:) I mentioned Dr. Bernstein's book too as I got it for Christmas. The nurse is predicting my A1c should be 5.5 when they test next month. I can't believe people don't want to give up carbs for a better life. Thank all of you for all the help I get here because this is the only place I have gotten help and all the information has worked so good for me.

Ceebee, that is so awesome!! How great is that to get that kind of support! I have an appointment in a couple of weeks with a new endo (had an internist for 11 years) and am hoping for the same thing.
