high blood pressure

hi, everyone. my name is jeff im 22 years old with high blood pressure. Im on many different meds like 100mg atenolol,60mg adalat, 25 mg hydrochlorothiazide, and 10mg ramipril and my bp is still 160/100. the doctors ive seen dont know why my bp is soo high ive also done many tests to try to find the problem with no results. please help me out. thanks  

Actually, there is growing evidence of links between a number of the developed worlds many medical conditions, hypertension included.
At the moment I'm reading Gary Taubes book 'Good calories, bad calories.' It's a remarkable book and I'd thoroughly recommend it to everyone on this forum.
He makes a convincing case that the incidence of diabetes, CHD, hyperinsulinemia and hypertension can all be linked to our ridiculously high carbohydrate diet and its effects in raising triglyceride levels and VLDLs while lowering HDL's. The evidence is a lot more persuasive than the evidence against dietary fat ha ever been.
So perhaps you'll see an improvement in your blood pressure numbers if you cut out the sugars and starches just as so many of us here have done with great benefits to our overall health.

You are doing the best thing you can do, reaching out to educate yourself, I would suggest you try the cardiac forum but if you are not responding to blood pressure meds you should see a kidney doctor, sometimes artery blockage by the kidneys also cause high blood pressure that regular blood pressure meds dont work  for, if you havnt seen a nephrologist yet you can ask your doctor to order an MRA of your kidney and bring that to your nephrologist, what kind of doctor is currently treating your blood pressure? I am on Normodyne, when my pressure was 160/100 my anxiety level was sky high, I felt like I am jumping out of my skin, how do you deal with that?
