Hello everyone, my name is Sharon, I just found out I have diabeties almost 4 months ago. I have been greatly overweight for awhile, but I've lost over 40lbs. I am 53 years old. I seem to be keeping my sugar under control for now. There are still days I feel so sleepy and lethargic and tired. My doctor has me on Vit D3 and B12. But I still have many days that I feel bad. But, I am happy because I do feel better now than I use to. I find it very hard to find something to eat most days, I am an Italian and I just love pasta, but I don't eat it much anymore. I eat plenty of fruits and veggies now, and my daily portion of carbs. I eat about 3-5 times a day, small meals, and snacks etc. I have to tell you all I am so terrified of losing a limb or in partictur one of those awful sores on my feet. ewwwwwwwww...this really scares me. But I try not to think of it. I am taking the med mediforum. So, my sugar is really low. I keep a check on it every day. Anyway, you all seem soooooooo sweet and nice, and I look forward to checking in here and talking about this horrible thing. But, God has a plan for us all, and I guess this is one of them...Thank you all for listening to me, and GOD BLESS EVERYONE OF YOU.

Hi Sharon, welcome to HealingWell. I'm sure you'll find lots of information and support here. And several members also take metformin, so if you have specific questions about it, just ask and eventually someone will respond.
