Size of blood drop

Do y'all think the size of the blood drop matters when we test?  I have noticed that when I use a fairly large blood drop to test I get a higher BG number.  When I use the size of blood drop shown on the package of my gluclose strips I get a lower BG number.  I've read of the importance of filling the strip so I make sure it's filled.  Both the smaller and the larger drop fill it...the larger drop fills it much more, of course...but both are filled.  I'm pre and take no meds.

Hi Joni.  That's a really curious thing you stumbled on.  If I were you, I'd make a note of this when you're doing your blood sugar just so you can refer back to them if there's a question as to why some seem higher.  I haven't noticed this myself but I'll see if there's any difference when I do it.  Thanks for the heads up.

The meters are pulling to glucose out of the drop anyway. Every drop, as you know, has a different amount of glucose and will give a different reading even with back to back testing. If you have a concern. Definitely log it anytime you are concerned and speak wiht your doctor about it.
