Hi everyone. I don't usually post here, but I've got an important question. I had some blood tests done, and they called and told me the tests were normal. about a week later, I went went in for a different problem. The doc says that he was looking at the test results and said my blood sugar was elevated. I told him that the test was taken in the evening so I didn't fast, because they weren't checking my blood sugar. So, he told me that he wanted to check it again but to fast this time. The doc told me that I could drink coffee, but to only drink it black. Well, my blood sugar was 132. So, he prescribed Metformin.
My question is, is it ok to drink coffee before? I googled, and it says to not drink anything but water. Is that true?
