Has anyone heard of these drugs raising glucose, Diovan,Simvistatin..

or Plavix ??

I had to have a stent placed in my heart due to blockage and am now on the above. Looked on the web and it doesnt seem as though they effect glucose just wondered if any on you have

I don't know, cvc.  I can't find any connection when I searched online either.  I hope you're doing well.  Sorry to hear that you were having heart problems.  How are things now?

nono  ell its a mental problem now,lol  Again I am 51 yrs old and in good shape biking and working out everyday no problems and then BAM this. They claim I will be biking again soon with no problems, but I read on the web these stents are not reliable, I told my cadio this and he said BS !

I told him I feel like a walking time bomb but he said I was a walking time bomb BEFORE the stent not now....

I take simvastatin and don't have any blood sugar elevation because of it.  BUT, simvastatin, actually any of the statin drugs, can deplete your body of CoQ10.  CoQ10 is found in every cell in the body I believe.  My doctor has me taking 200 mg of CoQ10 every day...100 mg in the morning and 100 mg in the evening.  This is wonderful for your heart, too!  Here is a link about it.  Be sure to talk with your doctor about this, especially if you are thinking of taking this.

Honey, I'm a retired nurse and I wouldn't read that! You might consider discussing these questions with your pharmacist, who is trained to be an expert in drug interactions.

Yea they say "no relationship to simvistatin raising glucose" I just know that my glucose was always around 77 before supper and 4 hours after a meal, last time I checked 3 weeks after starting simvistatin it was 94 before supper, thats 17 points higher..... nono
