I thought I would introduce myself.  I have been recently diagnosed with diabetes and rummaging around for a home online to discuss it.  Then I had an "aha!" moment and remembered HealingWell from my lyme disease days.  These kinds of forums are enormously helpful and supportive, so here I am, introducing myself.  The name is Cheryll and I am in my late 50s with two grown children, three grandchildren one here on Earth, two in the next world.  Our lively James helps my blood sugar.  All I have to do is go visit him, play and read to him and it's all better.  Too bad he doesn't live with us, well maybe that would be as fun. 

So anyway thanks for being here, I am still adjusting to all these problems and reading what you all have to say will help with attitude adjustment and problem solving.

Welcome, Cheryll.  I hope you've escaped the torrid summer temperatures up there in WI.  There's a lot of information here in this forum: many old threads that might be useful to you and the stickies at the top of our forum.  If you read TVEditor's testimony about his own diabetes and also the other sticky about resources, I'm sure you will get more aha! moments, too.  Also, this site has lots of information:  http://www.phlaunt.com/diabetes/

Are you on meds?  What have your blood sugar readings been?  Does diabetes run in the family?  Tell us what you normally eat for meals.

The best thing about being a grandparent is being able to spoil the kid beyond belief and then send them home to Mom and Dad. That way you get all the fun with few if any of the "complications".
