Yay, I ate some crackers with peanut butter before I went to the gym today - post-exercise BGL is 90 - perfect! I'm going to have to keep an eye on that, hypo was never a problem for me in my life before.
WillC, those of us on Metformin are usually watching our carbs really closely, because we don't want to have to take the meds that lower blood sugar directly. With Metformin we have minimal chance of real hypoglycemia, and the side effects are minimal to none for most people. I'm not on the extremely low carb diet that some follow, because I have other dietary constraints to work within also. But even so, I was able to control my glucose for more than six years with diet and exercise alone.
My blood sugar won't really vary from what it normally is if I miss a dose of Metformin. If I miss two weeks worth, it will definitely go up, however.
