Welcome to the forum, anxious lion. Well, first of all, don't panic. Maybe the elevated fasting was due to what you've been eating (which would mean lots of carbs, sugar, sweets, etc.). Fortunately, you don't have diabetes in your family because that is one of the first questions doctors ask. Carrying around a lot of extra weight can make the body insulin resistant and that would elevate the blood sugar, too. In any case, it's hard to know.
If you're supposed to go back to see him in a month, you should probably cut way down on all those sweets and carbs because they will drive the blood sugar very high. Have decent meals with some protein and veggies and cut back on potatoes, bread, pasta and rice. This might be a wake-up call for you to take better care of yourself starting with your diet.
