I don't know. First of all, the doctor needs to say if it's neuropathy or not. Neuropathy in diabetes is caused by dying nerve endings due to high blood sugar over a period of time. And this varies from person to person as to how high the blood sugar would be and for how long. This is why absolute control of blood sugar is important for this and other organ damage. If it's neuropathy, there are prescript
ion medications for nerve pain.
On the other hand, your job has you on your feet all day and maybe the problem with the toes could be because of that. A podiatrist could offer some help. Sometimes special shoes or inserts can help with that. There might be some exercises to do to alleviate the pain. In the meantime, try changing the shoes you wear at work if you wear the same ones everyday. Don't wear socks or hose that are too tight. Maybe changing your shoes and socks will help.
Walking is very helpful for circulation in general but if your toes and feet are hurting, then you need to find out exactly what the cause it.
So, I really don't know what to suggest other than foot massage and some walking and changing your shoes and socks for completely different ones. There are topical creams for pain, too. I wish I could help more.
