I did a foolish thing this afternoon. A friend and I went to Taco Bell and I ate a beef chalupa which is a deep fried flour tortilla with beef, lettuce, tomatoes and cheese. I also ate some of her cinnamon twists which are fried twisted tortilla strips sprinkled with sugar and cinnamon. I knew it was a foolish thing to do...I knew I would pay the price. Why did I do it! I'm not in denial...I know I am pre-diabetic. I knew I would have high sugar afterwards...yet I did it!
My BGL was at a very nice 85 when we left to Taco Bell and now I am home with a BGL of 183! I hadn't done anything this foolish in a very long time. I knew my body was suffering from the sugar because I began to experience heart palps and felt ill.
Thanks for reading this...I just felt compelled to write about it...get it off my chest. I'm back on the wagon so to speak.
