Lanie, between fibromyalgia and chemotherapy my fogs are a pain in the tushie. I do remember the vet saying something about most put down the animals because the expenses for a diabetic animal. I have pet insurance, so I will call my insurance company and see if they know of any vets that treat diabetic pets in the surrounding cities. I know for a fact, that there is only one vet between here and the next town over. I'm sure there is more vets into the city, but I live in an old fashioned small (walk everywhere in 2 miles) town that is real small. We have a town next to us (our twin town, as founded on same day) with the same problem. We share fire department, store, pharmacy, vet, school, college, HQ (Military headquaters). No hospital. Nearest hospital is 30 miles. Nearest mall is 3 blocks from the hospital. Take for example, in Chicago there is Soldier Field, well it is about the size of this entire town! I go into the city alot, so getting 30 miles to another vet is no problem.
Thank you Judy.
