Good morning, Judy! Leading up to Thanksgiving I whittled down the amount of food I ate in general and had more protein and veggies, so when I woke up yesterday, my fasting was 89. I didn't eat breakfast yesterday since I was really busy and we ate about
2:00 anyway - but I loaded up on turkey, ham, cauliflower casserole with cheddar cheese (I'll talk about
that later!
) and a nice serving of squash with brown sugar. Dessert was sugar-free ice cream and pumpkin pie (which I made with half sugar/half Splenda and no crust). And I slid a regular
cookie into my mouth too. I didn't take my blood sugar after the meal though, my bad! I didn't eat dinner because the meal was so long that I wasn't hungry.
Honestly, I don't even feel guilty about
not testing afterwards. First of all it was so busy around here that I didn't want to take the time. However, if I were on meds, that wouldn't be a smart thing to do. My last A1c was 6.1, higher than my last one, and it's probably that high because I've been sidelined by a recurrent hip bursitis problem and then a sciatic nerve pain in the butt and couldn't do my usual cardio. This is slowly getting better though.
Of course, Christmas is coming!
