Where to buy test strips?

I am learning how pricey glucose blood sugar test strips are!

Any tips on where to purchase them? Maybe the internet? How much should I expect to pay for them? I am paying about $1/ strip! This will add up very quick.

Anyone have good ideas for lower cost purchase? Coupons? Canada?

I've bought on line before, but I don't remember what I paid. Some of the meters use less expensive strips than others, so that will affect your price. When I've bought on line, I just look for the cheapest source because I can never tell the difference from what my insurance gets me from my pharmacy.

Is it OK to buy the cheapest strips then? Are they pretty much all the same? Can I go online & just search for the cheapest ones? Any recommendations for a reputable site? The strips that come with my One Touch are about $1 each at CVS with insurance.

I'd love to find generic strips that are just as good but cheaper. I only need them to be fairly accurate, like 90% correct, not perfectly accurate. I'm willing to compromise a little quality for price if y'all think its OK to do that???

Unfortunately there are no generic test strips. Each meter manufacturer makes the test strips for its own meters. So only a One Touch test strip fits into a One Touch meter, etc. The least expensive meter and strips that I know of is the WalMart brand ReliOn and it rated pretty well on the Consumer Reports tests.

i bought the relion prime from walmart and 100 strips all together equalled 35.00 and pay a total of 18.00 for 100 strips. they are as reliable as a one touch meter and cheap compared to others.
