Jim is right about
eating meals during the day. I'm not sure about
the hibernation, though, unless you're a bear!
When you go without eating for a long time, your blood sugar plummets. At that point, some people will feel weak and even dizzy. Then, if you eat a very large meal, your metabolism works overtime to deal with the food (process it) and if that meal has a lot of carbs especially, your blood sugar will take another dive and make you sleepy.
I don't think this is a good idea to do on a regular basis either. It messes up your metabolism and in the long run, it might have other effects. Even with a busy schedule with school and work, you need to have something for breakfast even if it's something small. Unfortunately, sometimes the easiest food to grab is a donut or other easy carb as you run out the door but that kind of breakfast cannot sustain you throughout the morning keeping you alert
. In fact, you may even feel sleepy. So, being prepared (like a girl scout
) is helpful. Have a hard-boiled egg ready to eat in the fridge and some carrot sticks and cheese. Something like that in the morning would be better for you and you wouldn't be that hungry later which would make you want to have a huge meal.
