Omigosh, I had no idea about
any of this. Am I the only one who is (was) in the dark about
how charred food (like bbq meat) can be detrimental to diabetics? It talks about
"advanced glycation end products".
I had read about carcinogens and charred meat but not the effects on diabetics.
Of course, to be fair, I don't think having grilled meat once in awhile would be harmful to the extent of being life-threatening but if a person is eating grilled/charred burgers, chicken, ribs, etc. several times a week, then I personally don't think that's a good idea.

Heart disease is quite common in diabetics, so keeping your blood sugar as near-normal as possible is important for this reason.
