Looking up a few things I stumbled on some research that Joslin performed last year, thought you guys would be interested. Make sure to watch what happens when you eat fats, maybe someone can do a little monitoring of their own and give their results in a reply
"We were able to show that when people ate a higher fat meal that their blood sugars were higher for longer and required more insulin."

BOSTON -- March 27, 2013 -- In a study of patients with type 1 diabetes, Joslin researchers found that dietary fat can affect glucose levels and insulin requirements. These findings, which appeared in the April edition of Diabetes Care, have major implications for the management of type 1 diabetes.
