Positive approach to living with diabetes

I was inspired by reading about the way an eagle uses the winds of a storm to fly safely above the storm. For all of us as diabetics we live from one storm to the next. I'm looking for suggestions to help all of us fly above the problems we face. I have been insulin dependent for 50 years and am thankful for every day that I continue to feel good.

Sugar control is good. AIC usually runs about 7.5 Hopping to keep it under control all the time.Dean

My doctor knows that I am a long term diabetic and he also has two insulin dependent kids, we both agree that the new standards looking for AIC'S to be in the 6 range are two low for healthy living. He wants me to be between 7 and 7.5 which is my normal range. I'm not sure that is the best for everyone, but when I try to go lower, there are way to many insulin reactions.

Will, I am not on the pump, I take 5 shots a day on a sliding scale. I am very active and find feel that it is a better way to adjust to my activities.
