Hi all,
Ate metformin ..not with food ,is giving me severe cramps and abdominal sounds ,diarrhea.

I used to be on Extended release version ,but not anymore.

I know I should eat food with it ,but my anxiety won't let me eat .
Can that cause so many troubles.

When I started taking metformin I did have stomach problems. My advice is try to eat something because that helped me. Just give it time and please, you've got to try to eat something.

Yes, metformin can cause all this on an empty stomach so you need to take it with food! Sorry!

Metformin is specifically designed to WORK ON FOOD. If there isn't any food, bad things happen.

I suggest that if you aren't eating, you don't take the metformin.

Or better yet, EAT.
