Sweaty wet feet

Is he diabetic?? if so type 1 or type 2 and what meds is he taking???  hard to give you advice if we don't know more about hubby!

The best thing for sweaty feet is nice thick cotton socks that are fresh and clean every day. They should be washed with about 1/4 cup of bleach added to the wash water to keep the fungus problems at bay. Also, checking that he is wearing leather or canvas (NOT VINYL) shoes is important. There are foot anti-perspirants out there but your body usually sweats for a reason. Absorbing the sweat and keeping him comfortable is most important.

If he works in an office and must wear dark socks he can wear them over the cotton ones but this may lead to hot feet and make the problem worse... Wish I could help more..

When I over-do on carbs my palms and feet perspire heavily. When I cut back on my carbs my perspriation level drops dramatically. Have him keep a food diary for a week. (If he's not following his food program he may balk at this.) Elimination of all refined carbs and high glycemic carbs may just do the trick. [ie. sugar, white bread, flour, breading on fried foods, white rice, mashed potatoes, cereals like corn flakes (better to stick with whole grains like shredded wheat or cheerios or oatmeal), veggies like corn etc.]

If he does that and still has the perspiration problem you may want to check with a podiatrist. There may be something stronger that we don't know about he could try.

Try having your husband soak his feet in a warm tea bath.

Just fill a pan with warm water and put in 5 or 6 regular size tea bag (or 2-3 family size bags) and let the bags soak until the water turns the color of ice tea then leaving the bags in the water soak the feet for about 10-15 minutes. When done do not rinse the feet, just dry with a towel.

This should be done once a day for a week and then once a week for the next 3 weeks.

I used to have that problem, long before I had diabetes, and by the end of the treatment my feet would only sweat for cause...ie being outside in really hot weather while being very active.

There is something in the tea that changes the sweat glands or pores or something. I have no idea how it works only that it does.

As far as what type of tea to use I am talking about your basic tea like Lipton or Luizianne, etc. Just the stuff most people use to make ice tea with.
