So I been up and down with my sugars mainly because the diet was boring and not feasible. Then my back started hurting and i could barely walk or stand plus I was working 3rd shift so I let myself go.
My sugars raised up to the 300's.
Then I got the worst yeast infection of my life. It took 6 diflucan and 3 weeks to cure. I got me a new doctor since mine moved out of state. They did blood work and my a1c came back 11.5% and my alkaline PHOSPHATASE was slightly elevated. I go back in and they do a liver function test and that turns up good. They also put me on a long lasting insulin tresiba as well as keeping me on victoza.
I got on Facebook and joined a support group that does low carb high fat way of eating. I did a lot of research and decided to give it a go. I cut my carbs to no more than 50 in a day, most of the time I only eat 25 grams of carbs. Cut out bread, pasta, rice, grains, and milk. No hidden sugars either. I found out I like cauliflower rice and mashed cauliflower. The way of eating is sustainable and I even made myself homemade no sugar added ice cream and mug cake.
I feel better than I have in ages. I have lost 11.8 pounds since June 21 and my sugars are at consistent good level. I think this way of eating was made for me.
