Now Im assuming that with the ensuing Neuropathy that happens in the lower extremeties, sudden pain is nothing new to someone with severe diabetes. HOWEVER, when you combine this with "severe artery disease", I would be scared to death that sudden and severe pain might indicate a blood clot, which could break loose and be fatal. Knowing that he has these two conditions and that they are "severe" I would think common sense would have told you to see a doctor the very next day!! Sudden severe pain should never be ignored, especially when you have the conditions your husband has. Get him to a doctor and at the very least have them do a sonagram of his legs!
