NEWBIE HERE,

I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF ANYONE HAS A SECRET FOR HELPING VERY DRY AND CRACKED HANDS? I HAVE TRIED EVERYTHING AND FOUND NOTHING THAT WORKS.

There is a cream that works really well and I believe its called udderly smooth or something to that effect. Also what worked REALLY well for me for my very dry feet was the oil of olay in shower body moisturizer. So far it has been the best for me! Robyn

there is this stuff that I use on my feet calle "miracle foot repair" that is really good stuff.  It was/is sold in one of those tv advertorial type things but I got it in a store.  They also make this stuff called miracle hand repair which is essentially the same thing.  The primary ingediant and what sets it apart from drugstore hand creams is "ALOE".  Its 60-70% aloe and you can see a difference the 1st time you use it.  Keeps the cracks away from really dry feet so I would imagine it would do the same for your hands.

Call your local quilt stores and ask if they carry udder cream.  Many do because it has become popular among quilters.  I use a Canadian product, Cetaphil cream.  I buy it at Costco in a 20 ounce jar.  I've also seen it at drugstores (Walgreens) in tubes (much more expensive).  It's amazing how it sooths and heals my skin.

I'm in the UK but I personally use E45 cream - it's the best I've found.

My husband uses "Hemp Hand Protector" from The Body Shop and swears by the stuff. (Yes, it's made from hemp and smells like the real thing!) I bought it for him a few years ago and it heals his cracked knuckles and the finger splits at the tips of his fingers. He works as a truck driver-delivery person handling cardboard boxes which are very tough on the hands. The cold weather and dry humidity add to the problem, too.

My daughter uses Vitamin E cream from Sams. She is allergic to aloe and finds the e cream works well.
