At the first of this month of March, I quit eating cold oat cereal as a midnight snack and just ate the fruit and milk. I had already recently quit eating wheat crackers and cheese for lunch.
It seems as a result of that, my b/s fast numbers dropped from 166, 166, 133 to 122, 104, 135, 147, 139 (today).
For last several months, I've been taking Pioglitazone 30 mg. to lower my b/s. I've also been walking around the block more for about 20 or 30 mnutes, about 3 times a week.
I'm not use to those lower numbers and am surprised that dropping the cold oat cereal for a midnight snack (now eating just the fruit and the milk) seems to have helped.
I also take my b/s reading only before breakfast (fast), for if I take it duing the day, the numbers seem to go up.
Also, recently took my reading in a cold room and the blood sample was so small, it wouldn't regisiter on my test strip or the meter. To prevent that, this morning I put my hands near a heater for a few minutes to warm up my blood. Only then did I take my blood sample and I got it on the first try.
I've had trouble in the past getting enough of a sample on the test strip and I'm now thinking I was in a cold room, either from the cold or from the air conditionder in the summer.
