Guess this gives me another thing to google as indoor winter time progresses!
Trying to avoid full diabetes, and willing to try new things.
I had many gut issues in the past, including "leaky gut', which is finally now accepted as something real by conventional medicine but technically called "gut permeability". That, genes, infections, lifestyle and even chemical exposure are what's mostly responsible for the many varieties of autoimmune disorders and food sensitivities like Gluten issues.
(Example : going gluten free and improving leaky gut, halted my thyroid from its yearly worsening after 20 years!).
I have "bad" autoimmune genes (tested positive), which I cant fix, but I can try help my gut some more which I will try to do. Just bought some Garden of Eden probiotics (good ones) a few days ago and my gut is already feeling better. ........This may or may not help with insulin sensitivity, time will tell. My bodies been an experiment for the last two decades; (thats how you overcome chronic Lyme disease, trial and error).

It always seemed odd that as someone with no more than 16% body fat my whole life, and down to a very solid 6% when I was an athlete in my 20's years ago, should have glucose issues. I was pre-diabetic years ago when athletically competing in pro class. It was nearly impossible to be more fit at the time, yet pre-diabetes existed. Its not always poor lifestyle choices.
So I dont think it was just from eating donuts and sugary cereal in the morning as a kid, as most all Americans did that in the 70's. Candy bars and other sweets were never part of my diet, my parents did not have that in the house either. Some of My Holloween candy as a kid would still be sitting in a drawer one year later LOL.
