I don't think this is the right area for this question but I couldn't find any way to post other than to jump in here..
Recently, when undergoing a coratid doppler, I was told I had goiter.. Follow-up ultra-sound of the thyroid did show nodules.. 3 on the right side..2 on the left.. all blood tests being within the normal range the surgeon I was sent to ordered a thyroid uptake and scan. The tech. that did the test, showed me the screen so I knew that the left side took up very little dye @ 6 and 24 hr. The doctor's ofc just called and told me that my "test was normal, and showed no nodules" I have a copy of the scan x-ray report, and the Impression reads as follows...Diminished
5-hour uptake is noted as well as 24 hour uptake on the left. In addition, the left lobe appears to be quite diminutive in size relative to the right. Distinct hot or cold nodule is not identified. Strict correlation is advised as well as correlation with thyroid ultrasound." I am not dieing to see more doctors or have any further tests run, but I am wondering about what the nurse told me. The test to me sounds completly different than what she told me, and the ultra-sound(done before the scan stated there were indeed nodules. Can you help me understand this..
