Well, I've been on Byetta 5 for about
10 days - first dose was the morning of April 7.
The results have been great once I added back my Glipizide ER - I had stopped it initially when starting the Byetta as per my doctor's orders.
My first thing in the morning numbers have gone from a range of 150 to 190 down to 107 to 135. My two-hours after meal numbers have gone down in a very similar manner.
Unfortunately, my doctor's request to the insurance company for pre-authorization (Byetta is not, of course, on their formulary) has been rejected due to their going strictly on my latest HbA1c score which was 6.7 - they say it is within "goal" range with just Glipizide and Metformin.
So my doctor needs to appeal the rejection, including information about
my morning numbers and after meal numbers to see if they'll authorize it.
I hate the way the insurance screws around so much with what they'll cover.
