Some time ago I began posting asking for info on GAD65 antibody numbers in diabetes. Although my wife does not have diabetes at this time her elevated blood sugars indicate the possibility that it will develop. Additionally the presence of an elevated GAD65-ab have lead to the indication of a possible second autoimmune disease for her. The destruction of GAD65 in the system has been seen as a correlate to the development of diabetes
I was just made aware of an exciting new research trial on a GAD treatment by Diamyd to attempt to treat using GAD to prevent the destruction of the Islets of Langerhan. If successful this could signal a significant move in diabetes research.
I know that SMS suffers are also watching this with enthusiasm.
Just thought you might like to know

Greetings, oldfordlover. I'm not familiar with GAD treatment. Can you explain why your wife was tested for elevated GAD65-ab?
