ceebee, this is the basis of several diets that first became popular years and years ago, including Atkins - which even though we think was ground-breaking 30 years ago was not a "sudden" newly formulated theory. The fat/carbohydrate/cholesterol/diabetes/obesity connection was known a century ago. Today again there are more books and diets based on this like Dr. Bernstein's, Dr. Atkins (popular again) and many articles that we've cited here on the Forum. A new book by Gary Taubes,
Good Calories, Bad Calories, that I've mentioned before, describes how this very subject has been tossed around for the last 100 years. Thanks for alert
ing us to the article in the LHJ. I think as more and more of these appear in magazines commonly read by the average person, the more the average person will be informed. It seems that everything we thought we knew about
food and how our bodies metabolize it has been turned upside down! The bottom line is how it works for us individually though, so keep testing!
