 I left a question on this forum over 24 hours ago asking if anyone could tell me if they had symptoms after thier seizures. It may not have come out quiet like that because I was still sort of  shakey. The last 2 seizures have been different and have left after effects and I have never had those before. Does anyone else have them? Even a no would be better than nothing. Is this some sort of a snobby forum where nobody answeres your questions? The last time I looked 24 people had looked at my question you would think someone could have taken a few minutes to type something. Monte

Some of the symptoms I get after a granmal seizure are a headache for most of the day, slurred speech for about the first hour after a seizure and a "foggy" brain for the rest of the day. I also tend to get very tired for the rest of the day.

Do your symptoms seem to only last about a day after a seizure? The last 2 I have had my symptoms have seemed to continue with twitches, dizzyness, aphasia problems with simple tasks and extreme exhaustion that won't go away. This seems so unusual to me. Not like my tamer little seizures that I used to have. If anyone could shed some light on what is going on with me it would be great. Or at least give me some intelligent questions to ask my neurologist when I go to see him tomorrow. I would really appreciate it. Thank you RanMan. Monte

Hi Monte,

I have been away for a couple of days which is why I have missed your post until now. Normally I respond within 12-24 hours depending on when you post (As I am from the UK and there is a huge time lag). I assure you this is NOT a snobby forum. It s quite slow and what you have to remember is that it is public. Most of those 24 hits on your thread are probably from people searching in Google for answers themselves (Since our threads appear on Google searches). They are probably not registered members and therefore did not respond. I am sorry that you feel we are letting you down but please try and refrain from insulting other people on the forum by referring to them as snobby. To answer your original question: I have after-effects up to an hour after partial complex seizures. At first I can't remember any words at all; and even when I can, it's a while before I can put them into coherent sentences. When I still got grand mals I had a whole range of after-effects, especially headaches and extreme fatigue, for the rest of the day.

And I've not answered sooner because I've not been on this site for a while. But if someone asks if something applies to people and it doesn't to me, I tend not to reply. I just don't think it would be useful. A lot of other people feel likewise, I think, which is maybe why your posting originally got a lot of viewings and no answers. And no this isn't a snobby forum, but it is a bit quiet sometimes. It used to be louder but the Grand Site Master kicked most of the liveliest people off in a great purge a couple of years ago.
