please...anyone else but me

For as long as I can remember I've had something that happens to me after being asleep only for maybe minutes. I fall asleep fine and then find myself on the floor. I'm always holding my stomach but don't know why. I grab all the blankets & take them with me and my husband cannot hold me down, I fight him and fly out of bed. I make weird body contorsions and just violent all over my body. I sit on the floor awhile and gain my composure and get back in bed and want so badly to sleep because I am so tired . But as soon as I fall asleep this starts all over again. This will go on all night long believe or not. Every 5 minutes or so until I give up and cry. A few times I was aware of it wanting to start and woke up and tried very, very hard to stop myself from doing this but no success. It's like an electric shock through my body and mind that I cannot control. It feels like it starts from my stomach and that's why I find myself holding it but there is no pain. I know, this doesn't make sense to me either. Within the last few weeks it has gotten to be everynight and all night. My new GP gave me a card for a neuro for epilepsy and sleep disorders which I have an appointment with next month. The only strange thing I ever experienced besides this was when I was a younger & driving in car with my parents and there was that strobe effect from the sun and trees I would space out. I would not know who I was, why I was there ect. I never told my parents I had this because it just lasted a few seconds. I am 50 now, in perimeno and it's been too long having this strange thing without a diagnosis. Does this sound familiar to anyone please.

It sounds like some sort of sleep disorder. Your upcomming appointment with the "sleep disorders clinic" should tell you something.
