Hi to all. i am jamiee, i post on the depression site, yet i would like some assistance. My partner female 38 suffers from seizures. she informs me that she has a lot at night, and she has them during the day at any time. she becomes rigid and lets out a large moan, arms go up and she has a seizure. she has had 2 implements in her brain, sorry unsure of the name, but she says it has not helped. another thing is that she also had a stroke at the age of thirteen, i would appreciate any information on the topic and or if they correlate. from what i gather she has been having seizures for a long time.

her memory is not 100% neither is mine at the best of times. she has good and bad days. sometimes struggles to vocalise her thoughts. i have learnt not finish her sentences!! one arm and hand is non-functioning, and wears a partial brace on one leg as her gaite is impared.

I'm sorry to hear about ur partner having so many problems with her memory and speech..i can definately relate. I've had two strokes, one in the frontal and one in the temporal lobe. I bounced back from these remarkablly well, only had some slight weakness on the right side. The docs believe that now i'm having seizure activity due to the damage in my temporal lobe, when i retrained my brain for langauge, my wiring has now started to misfire and that is what is causing my seizures.
Where in her brain did ur partner have her stroke? Is the damage from her stroke causing the seizures and maybe that is what is causing her speech difficulty like mine?
Do u know what kind of seizures the docs have said that she is having? Complex partial, tonic-clonic, etc? I'm new to this and i'm definately not a doctor, but in my experience, i've had good days and bad depending on how many seizures i've had that day. If i've had several, my memory is worse and my speech is worse and i'm very tired. I wish i had all the answers for you, but this is such a complex disese with many different viarables depending on what type of seizures you have and where in the brain the damage is.

thx 4 replying, the information pertained is very helpful indeed. we are a new couple, she lives at home, has an agency that supports her development, cooking, basic ed and jewellery making. she has mild short seizures with partial rigidity. comes good quite quickly. although when stressed her carers advise me that she can have multiple seizures, amounting into a petit mal, to the accassional grand mal. will ask her main carer about the stroke a bit more, and if i may, i will get back to you. me, still learning, thanx 4 your courage in posting and i wish you well.

she started having seizures from the age of three. the continous seizures definately played a role with her stroke. i am not new to epilepsy, a housemate passed away on my couch 8 years ago of a grand mal withdrawal seizure, my now adult brother suffered from gms, albeit he ticked a lot before having one, stress pushed his on, and a cousin at the age of 20 passed away from a gms a few years ago also.
