Allergic reaction to tegretol

Now she is on Epilim (Depakote).

I was really hoping she wouldn't have to go on Epilim. The way our health system works is that you have to try the older, cheaper drugs first before you get access to the more modern and expensive drugs.Sigh.

I'll report back on how she does with the Epilim.

She's pretty sad- she was hoping to get back to school next week.

I think I was sort of expecting it with Jessica- she has lots of allergies.

The doctor said to start the epilim straight away but I'm going to wait until tomorrow until more of the tegretol is out of her system. She's ok tonight- not seizing. The hair loss thing with epilim/depakote upsets me- not a nice prospect for  a teenage girl.

I would love to get in to see a neurologist but we are only under the care of a local paediatrician at present.
