Hello all. I am just writing to ask some questions about absence seizures in adults.
Earlier tonight, I was playing cards with a friend of mine when she said I zoned out and became unresponsive when she said my name to tell me it was my turn in the game. Then all of a sudden, I was babbling on about something that she didn't understand, and when I came "through", I noticed that she was looking at me with a confused look. I laughed and I asked her what was wrong, and she asked me if I heard her saying my name. I told her no and then she was asking if I remembered anything from the past minute and I again said no. Without thinking, her and I started laughing, but then it happened again. Once more, when I came through, I had no remembrance of what happened and I felt a bit confused. She told me it was like I was in some kind of a trance. I was shuffling the deck of cards while it happened but I was completely unresponsive. I know that this is a silly question but is this known as a form of a seizure?
I am a 22 year old female and I have been diagnosed with high functioning autism, but this hasn't happened for at least two years. I never thought much of it, but it has happened before now that I think about it. It almost feels like I go somewhere completely different than actual reality and I have no recollection of reality until I "snap out of it".
I would appreciate any feedback ya'll might have. Thank you and God Bless!
