Just curious, How long have you gone seizure free?
What meds seem to work best for you?
I had my first gran-mal sz in 1979, was put on Dilantin (not much else available back then).
Didn't lose my driver's licence though.
Developed Ulcerative Colitis a few months later.
By this time, I was also on "Mesasol" for the UC and the Doc added pheonobarb to my "coctail".
2nd gran-mal in Dec/02 as I pulled off the road and into a Wal-Mart parking lot. Bumped another parked car, rushed to ER and lost my licence then. (here in Ontario you have to go seizure free for 2yrs before having it reinstated).
3rd gran-mal in Oct/04 in front yard while raking leaves. I passed out, fell forward into a rose bush, don't know how long I was out but woke up with my face covered in blood and my next door neighbour standing in his yard just staring but didn't even ask if I was alright. Isnt that funny ~ he has epilepsy too.
Since 1979 I have also been having (several a week) petit-mal seizures.
My current coctail of meds seems to keep me under control 95% of the time.
I have to be carefully monitored because I have 2 conditions.
Both go hand in hand. (both high stress related)
I've posted this on the Ulcerative Colitis board as well.
