HI. It was ok staying awake. I'd prayed a lot that they would be able to. I was really glad they didn't use strobe lights. I was talking to the lady before she started and she said should wouldn't if I didn't want her to. THEN, the office called her and told her not to because it said not to on the paper from the doctor.
I tolderated most of it. The hardest part was when she put the things on my shoulder. I know, it's not normal that that is the hardest but I am terrifed of anything with undressing and her pulling back my shirt was bad enough.
What happened during it I don't understand. I have epileptic seizures but have been told I also have non-epileptic seizures (NES). During the EEG I had two of what I've been told are NES. I didn't ask about the second one but I did about the first one and it showed up on the EEG. I'm confused. Any thoughts anyone? I wonder what the doctor will say.
And this next part of it was probably medically wrong but maybe someone can understand. I didn't take my Lamictal the night before. I took the morning dose right before the EEG, which was at 10:40. But NES aren't supposed to be affected by AEDs. I guess Lamictal either is for, or has been studied in using it for bi-polar disorder. I don't have that. So if I take Lamctal for seizures, does it affect me at all emotionally? Or does it only affect the emotions of people taking it for bi-polar? But I didn't take it because I wanted to be believed. I'm sick of describing what happens and not being believed so they toss it under the NES category. I have only seen this doctor once, when he referred me to have the EEG. I figured if it showed on the EEG, I could get his thoughts on this. If it didn't show, then I would be ready to believe it's NES. I hadn't had an EEG since the one the doctor who told me they were NES had me have. The other one, the epileptologist (spelling right? word right?) said nothing. My primary doctor told it was NES. Another primary doctor, who I only saw once several years ago, said it was Jacksonian. Was he the only one right? Or do NES show up on EEGs? I've always been told they don't. So I'm confused.
And what's weirdest still is that I slept a few hours in the car on the way home, but when I got home I couldn't relax to sleep. I finally gave up and read. I only slept about 11 hours and under normal circumstances I sleep about 10. I woke up cold and with a cold. I guess my immune system is messed up from not sleeping.
Thanks for reading this and I hope you were sincere when you said to let you know how it went!
