My new Neuro??? really in a bind now.

Hey everyone.   Well, I had my new Neuro appt. today, and I wasn't impressed.  When I first said that I had a "grand mal"seizure, he asked me not to use medical terminology???  My Husband went with me and he was NOT impressed with the guy either.  Now I'm in a bind because this Dr. was considered my second opinion.  I am not sure if my Insurance will pay for me to go to another Neuro.  I know you shouldn't judge a book by it's cover, but for me first impressions are huge.  This office was very low budget, my Husband was freezing because the heat was not turned on.  I left there feeling like I hadn't even seen a Dr.  This was my first appt. with him, so I didn't expect miracles.  However, I wish he had been more thourgh. 

I have an appt to get blood work and an EEG done at that office.  Should I give him a second chance and see what happens after he reads some of my tests? AAARRGGG.....I shouldn't let this consume me, but it is.  :(

Hi I had sort of the same problem. The hospital neuro told me I had a grand mal and wanted to do eeg's and had a bad bedside manor. The second opinion had the nerve to tell me I only passed out and he didn't think I had a seizure. Well the first hospital neuro ran his 24hour eeg and I had abnormal brain waves. I have been on Keppra ever since. It is hard but I would check with your insurance to see if you can get a third opinion. My insurance let me as long as I had a refferal from my primary and it was someone within my insurance company. Take care, Tracy
