Hi Everyone,

   I haven't posted in here for a long time. I haven't had any seizures for over a year now, but I did have one Saturday night. I noticed that I got very, very sleepy before the seizure. Does this happen to anyone else, or is it just me or my imagination? Tks in advance for your help. I had to come to the experts for answers!!! :-)   Take care all and God Bless You!!

My name is Michael; and I'm fairly new here but I'm starting to become a hawk on this message boards as my seizures and other problems are causing me to be homebound.

As the last reply said - everyone does have different signs. Personally, I get a horrid taste in my mouth - a bit dizzy - and a ringing in my ears. That's when I know it's time to run off to find somewhere to lay down.

This evening I had all signs of that and made it to the bed in plenty of time thankfully. I had an awful grand mal seizure, absence seizure as well.

Personally I'm finally getting the hang on what to expect - at least finally there is a precursor.

Although no one will let me go alone; but will finally leave me unsupervised; I have a warning sign that is sure to go off.

Good luck! Just watch for any sign.

Tks Mandi and Micheal,

  I do appreciate your replys. I did make it to the bed, but passed out sitting up in the bed..lol. I woke up sometime later, not sure how long just long enough to know that my neck was hurting and to slide down in the bed, but was right back out until 4:45am. I'm glad I did have a warning sign. When I was having them before, most of the time I just hit the floor.

  Micheal, I'm sorry that you had such a bad seizure, but glad you made it too bed. I've never had a grand mal, thank goodness!!

  Tks again and I will keep you updated if or when I have more. Take care and you both will be in my thoughts and prayers.

the warnings i have are usually just quick jerks in my body...if i'm standing up when a bad one happens, i'll fall to my knees. sometimes i have them and a seizure doesn't come, but if they get worse and quicker then i know a seizure is coming.

Micheal, i'm 23 too and also have grand mals. it's the scariest thing in the world to know a seizure is coming and all you want to do is lie down somewhere safe. can i ask how long you've been having seizures?

Hi all,

  I saw my rheumatologist this morning about the seizure I had Saturday night and a minor one on monday. She has ordered an MRI for the 14th and wants me to go to UAB in Birmingham for an EEG, she also ordered alot of labwork that I had done today.  I'm waiting on that appt to be set up for the EEG.  I was told not to drive until I get the EEG done and see what it shows. So here I go again, not being able to drive. It is so frustrating to have to depend on others to take me where I need to go, especially my 72 yr old dad. I should be taking care of him and not the other way around.

  I hope the EEg shows nothing and I can drive again after that. Tks again everyone for your support. Take care and God Bless You!!
