Casinos can trigger epilepsy

 

IMO the flashing lights and all the noise (ringing bells, loud music etc) at a casino are HUGE triggers for epilepsy, especially if you have the photo sensative type of epilepsy.

Hi Jenn.

I would have stayed but I was up $200.00 after an hour and I had a bit of an aura and felt that I better get the h--- out before I had a full seizure.  Greed can also play an important roll in this area b/c I know that if I was losing, I probably would have stayed and then who knows what would have happened.

Hi-I'm awaiting diagnosis- I've had 52 grand mal seizures in the past 30 years. My trigger is usually pain but lately I've been having seizures out of the blue. Weird thing, though, I'm a pit boss in a casino. I never look at the lights, just the tables, and I've learned to completely tune out the slot machine noises. On lamictal now. I was taking keppra but the mood swings were terrible. I thought some of my employees would run to Human Resources on me. My eptileptologist took me off of the Keppra. I should receive my EEG and MRI results this week.
