Finally they've booked me in for an Ambulatory EEG in a couple of weeks time. I get a load of metal discs glued to my head for 24 hours, attached to a tape recorder the size of a walkman. They're not keeping me in hospital for these 24 hours. I get to walk the streets with a load of electrodes apparently growing from my head, then go back the next day so they can remove the discs and allegedly read my brainwaves from the tape. My questions are - has anyone else gone through this and is it as amusing as it sounds? And does it ever actually achieve anything?

I had that done when I was part of the expirment for felbetol. I had to have that done every month and it does show szs activity as well as improvements. You have to hit the button when you think your having a sz. Since most of the time I am unaware I never hit the button. Sleeping with that was not so comfortable, but its doable. I use to exericse in the apartment, clean and cook and have my absences.Its pretty cool if you think about it. Getting the glue off is a pain.

Thanks for replying, Positive. Not sure if I get a button to press. If so, it should complete my transformation into a lab rat. Though I know all about the 'glue in the hair' experience from past tests - and I'm sure plenty of other HW members do too. One of the great unpublicised delights of epilepsy.
