ER trip

Well, I earned myself a trip to the ER last night.  Had a partial seizure that lasted 4 hours.  It took 3 doses of Ativan to stop the seizure.  Neuro upped two of my meds. grrrrrr.

I agree wholeheartedly with Mandi's post re ice cream. You've earned it!

Just lost my neuro. Had another seizure the other night. He told me to take a Klonopin and if it didn't stop in 30 min. to to go the ER. Which is what I did. For those of you who don't know me....about 2 years ago I was restrained by about 15 cops, male nurses and security guards for being alittle combative when post ictal in the ER after being sedated 4 times. They injured my shoulder requiring surgery afterwards. Then, I was led out in handcuffs and placed on a 72 hr. mental hold. Anyway, back to my story. The same dr. came in. she stuck a tongue depresser down my throat that almost caused me to vomit and because all my muscles tensed and stopped my convulsing for just a second or two...she said it wasn't an epileptic seizure. When I was discharged...I was still twiching a little. I asked her if I was still seizing or if it was just my muscles shaking from fatigue and did she think I needed more Ativan or not. The next morning I got a phone call from my neruo chewing me out saying I can't be running around using his name to get drugs and he doesn't think I have epilepsy anymore. Now, I have several documents from him clearly stating his diagnosis of epilepsy. He ended our "dr. patient relationship" and then actually asked me if that was ok with me. If I wanted to run around and get drugged up I could do it at home with the drugs I already have that he's prescribed me for treatment of the epilepsy that he supposedly doesn't believe that I have anymore. Ya know, 300 mg's of Topamax, 1mg of klonopin, and 300 mg of Lamictal a day. I don't need to go to the ER to get drugged up. LOL Not sure what to do now. GRRRRR
