sz and mood swings

Does anyone else have mood swings, related to episodes?  Notice changes in general mood, outlook, behavior even hours, days, etc. before sz occur? Please share.

Hi Britt,

Yeah, I agree with Jenn, it could be from the meds ~ that's what happens to me. As Jenn said, keep a log and discuss with your Dr.

I also agree with Jenn also. As Jenn said, I would keep a log and discuss it with your doctor. Write down ever effect and how your feeling before, during and after your episodes. I normally felt very treid and sometimes weak. I also was very nevous and scared of being alone, especially in dark places.

i missed the jen post.

i have mood swings before. up to a day or two before i have one. before hand, i'm ...well lol i'm mean! short tempered, and just mean.

my husband has learned to pick up on me being a bigger than usual and warns me to calm down and stay away from stairs etc.

after the seizure...i'm placid. very lathargic, depressed and paranoid.

i sometimes have a tense, negative mood swing before my night seizure but it is hard for me to see that it is happening since i have lots of mood swings.

i am usually down in the morning, go up during the day and then back down in the evening. yeah, like a roller coaster - usually, but not 100% of the time. i can't tell you now if its my complex-partial seizures, results of my surgery, the drugs, or me and neither can my neuro.

I have mood swings too. I'm usually very irritable for about 12 hours or so right before I have a seizure. After I have a seizure my wife always tells me, "I knew you were going to have one soon." lol However, I have no idea that I'm acting that way. I feel horrible that I'm treating my family like that. But I have no control so my wife tells me not to worry about it they all understand.

I do get the mood swings... like one minute i;ll be happy and all that, then BOOM, i;ll be depressed and want to cry it out, to make myself feel better. I'll be moody to my bf and will know that around the time of the month, not only am i moody, alittle, but i may have more siezures...so its liek putting 2 and 2 together. But i wouldnt worry about it. It'll pass, and we are all happy in some way:)
