Anonymous Me,
I thought you were describing myoclonic seizures. Yes, you do need to get in touch with your doctor. I think I mentioned to you before that I was just diagnosed last August at the age of 55 by doing the four day EEG. Before that, I did not realize that I was closing my eyes when I was having these seizures. You have to think about the fact of having one when you are driving and a little child runs out in front of your car, would you be able to stop? I know the monoclonic seizures are very brief, but you have to have them under control to drive just like all the other seizures. When I was still trying to work last year before I was diagnosed, I was sitting at my desk having myoclonic seizures all day long, the worst part was that they were affecting my speech which was very difficult for me. My mouth would start twitching and seem to get stuck when I was trying to communicate with others at work. So, another point is that they can get much worse than they are now. I strongly urge you to see your physician. I know you don't want to. I don't want to go back in for another four day EEG and some other tests, but I'm going. Epilepsy isn't a lot of fun, but it could be something worse. So, you call your doctor and I'll go be wired, videoed and monitored next month. Deal?
Take care!
