I know little or nothing about epilepsy and only ended up posting here because for the second time in 4 months I woke up with total or partial amnesia that lasted 10 to 20 minutes, and when I searched online the only thing that comes up is TEA or TGA. I am currently going to various doctors trying to find out what is wrong with me, but the symptoms that led me to doctors in the first place are extreme fatigue, dizziness, vertigo (near constant), shortness of breath, low blood pressure, low grade fever off and on, etc. I have been checked by a cardiologist, am seeing an endocrinologist (who is passing me off to an ENT (because of a chronic sinus infection and growth she discovered), and a neurologist. I am being scheduled for an EEG and an MRI but have not had them yet. So far all tests that I have had are normal, but my functionality for daily life went down to nothing about 6 months ago and has not improved. The two amnesia events scared the hell out of me. The first one I did not even know who I was or where I was for at least ten minutes after waking up and things slowly started coming back over the next ten minutes. The second event I could not remember my son who was in the house with me (I woke up from a nap in the afternoon), or the date, time, location etc. I am 42 years old, female, and was an active healthy person before all this started. I used to ride a bicycle everywhere and had no car, but the fatigue made that impossible. I no longer had the energy to pedal the bike and the 15 minute ride to work was taking me 45 minutes. I have not regained my energy and usually only last 20 minutes to 3 hours of minor activity before I have to sleep or rest again. I have near blackout spells walking through the grocery store, or even driving (I know I shouldn't be driving, but I have to work to pay the bills and the bicycle is no longer an option). I honestly am not sure how I continue to work. I work a graveyard shift at a group home for disabled adults and only manage to handle this job because I can do some cleaning, then sit and veg for 20 minutes or so before continuing, and repeat throughout the night. Then save up enough energy to complete the 3 hr morning routine and go home straight to bed. I have no energy for a social life and do nothing but work and sleep at this point. I have read other threads and hope the EEG or MRI will tell me something. I will be mentioning the amnesia events to the neurologist. I had not before because I thought it was an isolated one time event until now. Thank you for any input.
