I've had seizures on and off since I was 15. The headache after a seizure can't be described unless you have seizures. I get Auras before I have seizures. I also get seizure headache. What the all knowing dr.s in my small town and my Mother, who together, studied neurology, knew for sure that when my headaches got severe,they were migraines. Nobody believed me when I told them they were seizure headaches. Nobody that diagnosed me had epilepsy either. My symptoms didn't really fit migraines at all but I was told "they COULD be CLOSE." Well I "COULD" be a man if I weren't a woman. After almost 30 yrs, I think I might know my body just a little bit better than them. And they wonder were our anger comes from?

Good comment because i've had seizure's since i was 14 and now 43 and the headaches are past migraines i used to hit my head against the wall to numb my head, that's how extreme they are.

Epilepsey causes anger as i've had councilling for it and it's never helped.

Hello, kat1611 & Diamond20 _UK.  I myself have been having seizures for since I was 3 years old and am now 40.  I feel it is not the epilepsy that causes anger, it is the medication.  If you read the side effects for the medication you will see that everything you probably feel is a side effect.  I have been on so many medications and depression has always been a problem.  I have went to counseling myself and I agree it doesn't work.  However, I really believe it has nothing to do with the epilepsy it is the medication.   yeah

Almost everyone agrees that it's the medicine that causes the anger. I disagree. I'll admit I really don't like having epilepsy or taking medicine for it, but my anger surfaces after I have a seizure. I think it's because of the reason that caused me to start having seizures. It was a traumatic event, after which, as a teen, I started to act up. I think that's where the anger after the seizures comes from.

kat1611 i also get angry after seizures that's normal if you research it, i now suffer bad headaches something i never used to suffer from prior to being a epileptic i'm 29 i started fitting 2 years ago, i must say you seem depressed and aggitated within the words you've written your not alone cheer up..

I am sorry to hear that everyone feels that way after the seizures.  I really don't think I will ever know exactly what causes me to be so depressed and have anger like I do because I have been on medication just about my whole life.  I really don't have headaches.  Everyone is different.  But, sometimes I wonder what type of personality I would have without the medication cause I read the side effects and I have or had every single one of them.

Maybe the anger is because I think I'll never be "normal". I'm a 43yr old Irish woman so anger is a problem. I have a great sense of humor as do most Irish women. Unfortunately, when I no longer have control of my anger, I am not very pleasant to be around.

I don't have an anger problem but I get pissed after I have a seizure. It's more like "Why now? What did I do to deserve this? This is BS I was having fun. This sucks I was at work." It's more just anger over the fact that it happened but not any more than that, I'm never angry except for an hour or two after I have one. Kat I get the headaches too, personally for me it's the worst headaches of my life, but when I come too I deny medical treatment, go home, take 2-3 Tylenol and go to bed. Pure Oxygen from a tank helps greatly and gets rid of the headache almost instantly.
