Ginny, Have you considered the massive heat wave we've been having lately. This can be what is throwing your blood sugar level out of wack. You did mention that your levels have been off especially over the last month or so.
Although this is more in relation to epilepsy, it also effects the reaction that other meds will have in relation to other medical conditions.
As per my neuro:
Because of all the very hot weather we've been having recently and all the perspiation, it can have a negative effect on your meds and cause you to act like you're drunk because you lose so much of your medication though your perspiration bringing your blood syrum level down.
This can be determined by a special type of blood test that most labs won't do because it's so expensive, "Blood Syrum Unbound Fraction" to see how much of your medication is being lost through perspiration. It shows how much of your medication is actually in the blood and how much is being stored, that's the "unbound fraction".
It's a very rare type of test.
