Before memorial day I got sick all my tests were normal, but they are treating me for partial complex seizures. Now I never had any test come back showing I had one but my dr reported me to the DMV and my license have been suspended can they do that I am so upset.

In most states, a driver's license is automatically suspended until you have been seizure-free for six months to a year (depending on the state). The criterion is a medical determination that you have a likelihood of suffering loss or diminishment of consciousness which could occur while driving.

The reason for this is that your life and the life of others could be endangered if it happens while you are driving. You can check with your driver's license office about the exact law in your state and inquire as to whether there is an appeal process you can access.

thing is they have no, medical reason to prove it was a seizure :( my eeg negative my mri negative all my tests negative ! I am so upset, I will probably get fired, not to mention loose my house if I cant pay my bills.

you can file an appeal, and go to a hearing. IF you get DR of some kind to say you had no seizure and have no reason to believe you'll have further loss of consciousness you can possible get it reversed. I wasn't so lucky...but dr just agreed to approve me to drive again!!

My license were reinstated, in the state of Pennsylvania if you have nocturnal seizures they cant suspend your license. My son did some research for me, in the past I had passed out at night when I would get up to go to the bathroom I would twitch, they diagnosed me as hypoglycemic. I then tried to change my sleep pattern which prompted my seizure to happen during the day. So since I have no electronically recorded seizures, my dr said they were nocturnal.
